This is truly an insiders view of contemporary Switzerland that embraces the 700 year history and extraordinary physical beauty of a country whose name conjures romantic images of snow-capped mountains, quaint villages, medieval castles, charming farmhouses and vineyards.
Hike through the Alpine region in the shadow of the Eiger North Wall, visit the Chillon Castle nestled in the Swiss Riviera, taste delicious raclette in the town of Gruyere, visit a traditional wood crafting village, dine in hand-selected restaurants and stay in the comfort of deluxe hotels. But, most importantly, have your camera ready for the shots that will keep this amazing journey with you for a lifetime.
The Photographic Tour of Switzerland with Peter Schreyer includes photographic guidance and instruction throughout the trip, and assistance with trip and equipment preparation prior to departure. Also included are eight nights in deluxe hotels, all ground transportation, including private rental van, rail, and boat, daily buffet breakfasts and two group dinners, and all local transfers, excursions and admission fees.

Tentative 2019 Tour Itinerary
Friday, July 12: Mid-morning assembly of group at Zurich Airport. Scenic three-hour drive via our private van from eastern Switzerland via the rural Emmental to the central Lake District. Lunchtime visit to the picturesque city of Lenzburg with its impressive, medieval castle. Afternoon check-in at the historic Hotel Krone (the building dates back to 1233!) in the romantic walled city of Aarberg, our excursion headquarters for the next two days.
Saturday, July 13: In the morning, we will get acquainted with our host city and the charming Swiss Lake District. At the edge of the Jura Mountains, the rich farming and wine-making area is dotted with historic villages. Afternoon excursion to the Swiss capital city of Bern. Walking tour and night photography session in the 800-year-old city on the picturesque Aare River.
Sunday, July 14: Morning departure from Aarberg for the French-speaking Lake Geneva region of Switzerland. On the way, we will visit the medieval towns of Murten and Gruyeres, famous for castles and cheese. Enjoy a traditional Raclette meal at the famous Chalet de Gruyeres Restaurant. Check-in for two nights at Montreux’s most scenically located lakeside hotel, the Eurotel Riviera – with each room enjoying a breathtaking view of the entire lake and the French Alps!
Monday, July 15: Morning exploration of the classic resort town on the Swiss Riviera, including a short boat ride and a visit to the world-famous Chillon Castle. Enjoy lunch in the vineyards of Aigle and experience the Swiss Camera Museum in Vevey in the afternoon.
Tuesday, July 16: Today we will travel through the lush valley of the Simmen River with a lunchtime stop in the world-class resort of Gstaad. Mid-afternoon arrival at the Alpine village of Grindelwald in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. Check in for three nights at the Derby Hotel and enjoy a balcony view of the famous Eiger Mountain.
Wednesday, July 17: By special mountain rack railway and chairlift, travel into the high elevations of the Oberland Alpine region. In the shadow of the Jungfrau Mountain and the imposing Eiger North Wall, hike across green meadows and witness unparalleled Alpine scenery.
Thursday, July 18: All-day excursion to Interlaken and the nearby Ballenberg open-air museum that showcases more than 30 original rural homes and traditional craft demonstrations, representing all major regions of Switzerland ─ one of the photographic highlights of the trip!
Friday, July 19: Depart Grindelwald and cross Lake Brienz by steamer, on to the Brunig Pass, and to the City of Luzern, rated one the world’s most beautiful cities by the readers of Conde Nast travel magazine. En route lunchtime stop in Brienz, the center of the Swiss wood-carving trade. Accommodations for two nights at one of the charming old town hotels.
Saturday, July 20: Enjoy your last day in Switzerland by exploring the city of Luzern with its covered bridges, cobblestone streets and fountains. Optional afternoon excursion via a traditional lake steamer to the nearby Rigi Mountain. Farewell dinner party.
Sunday, July 21: Finishing our circular Tour of Switzerland, we will drive from Luzern to Zurich Airport in the early morning, officially ending the guided tour. Please arrange for an afternoon return flight to the U.S. – or spend additional days own your own in Switzerland!

What’s Included …
Participants arrange for their own air transportation to Zurich, Switzerland. Several airlines operate convenient overnight flights from Orlando (usually with an easy change in Atlanta, Miami, New York, Philadelphia or Newark). Participants may opt to extend their stay in Europe. Good rates can also be found at www.orbitz.com and similar websites.
To reserve your space, a deposit in the amount of $ 1,000 is due upon registration or no later than February 1, with full balance due by April 1, 2019. Crealdé School of Art is offering this special program in conjunction with Peter Schreyer Photographic Tours.
